Just a really cool place. I wish I lived closer, I'm out in Edgewood, but every time I'm in the area which is pretty often, I have to stop in. The atmosphere is amazing! When you first walk in you almost feel like you're walking into a cantina on tatooine. The interior design is really cool. Their tea list also happens to be amazing! With some colorful and fragrant options. Great maté also if you are into that. They also serve some other more medicinal and herbal options for those who are looking to unwind. All in all, a great experience with a great product!

Friendly staff. Very chill area to gather. The different types of advertisements for arts, gathering , and support for immigrants/the LGBTQ+ community/ BIPOC makes this place so much more inviting. Love the plant based options.❤️❤️

Really cute place and cool vibes. Dig the starwars cantina interior design. Hand pies are great, tea is fantastic. Lots of live events in a cool cozy space. I'd definitely recommend coming by for a drink, a snack, or an event. Staff was super friendly.

Posting this to try and faithfully counteract the negative reviews Bantha's received after a misguided individual took to Reddit instead of speaking to someone working about their disagreement with Bantha's tip suggestions. I'm a semi-regular and have connections to the staff, so while my review may be somewhat biased, I'm certain I'd still be giving it 5 stars even if yesterday was my first time stopping in. Bantha is a pillar of the community in Friendship / Garfield, and this is apparent from the moment you walk in. The staff is friendly, the owners are great, and the tea is exceptional and priced fairly. In addition to all this, they constantly give back to the community, between hosting local artwork, offering their back room as a FREE gathering space, and sourcing their offering as locally as they are able. At the time of posting, many businesses on / around Bantha's block are suffering from perpetual construction on Penn Ave. I, for one, don't at all mind optionally choosing to tip a few extra $ if it means I get to contribute to keeping this wonderful community space healthy. Small businesses are the core of Pittsburgh's cultural identity, and we are all in this together -

This place is an absolute GEM. If I still lived in Pittsburgh, I would be hanging out here every single day. I highly recommend anyone get over here and check this place out!!! Amazing botanical goodies for everyone. Little Apothecary inside and you can make your own custom blend or use a house blend, plus krat tea and kava, definitely an amazing hang spot similar to the Bee Hive from back in the day.
